Onyinye FKA Debra Ohalete is a British born vocalist and writer who began to produce and release her music in the year 2014 on Soundcloud. Onyinye started her career in the year 2014 when she posted her first song Long Journey produced by Chase Stark. Born in Newham and grew up in South London. Raised by a supportive mother who has always encouraged her to follow her passion for the arts....She attended Croydon College studied performing arts and went on to Northampton University to study Drama. “I always did music cause it’s part of my courses but made the decision to concentrate on one thing in university” Her debut Ep ‘Pussy Monologue’ was released in 2019. Inspired by Eve Ensler’s vagina monologue, Onyinye’s ‘Pussy Monologue’ tackles the boundaries of female sexuality. Citing Sade, Erykah Badu and Frank Ocean are amongst musical influences. Making her live debut at ‘Off the Record’ festival Manchester in 2018, Onyinye has also been part of several tours and performed around the UK with London Rapper Afrikan Boy, Afrobeat aficionado Seun Kuti, Nigerian artist TIA and collaborated with German producer Ghanaian Stallion. Her singing incorporates the element of a trap, soul, Hip-hop beats, Jazz and Afrobeats. Her latest single ‘Talk To Me’ was released on the 18th of November 2022 promotes female empowerment, spirituality, sexual liberation whilst maintaining a standard that demands a certain level of respect from the male counterpart. An upbeat sing along sensual track that makes you want to go out and shake a leg or create dance moves with friends/ family.
