Cloud Studies are a shoegaze / dreampop band from London. Having amassed a large array of guitar effects pedals, founding members Adam and Martin decided it was time to put them to use. Cloud Studies was formed in 2024 and comprises of Adam Cresswell (of Saloon & Rodney Cromwell) on bass and vocals, graphic designer Martin J Langthorne on guitar, drummer Nat Guest and Adrian Taylor also on guitar. The sound of Cloud Studies is part-shoegaze part goth, so we call it gothgaze. Their debut single ‘Ghosts’ with its airy, plaintive vocals, neo-krautock beat, layers of spacious reverb-drenched guitars and a floating atmosphere was perfect for its halloween 2024 release. The radio version of ‘Ghosts’ became the fastest performing song on the streaming platforms for their label Happy Robots, while amassing 1 million views across TikTok and Instagram reels. They played their debut gig in London in October 2024 to a sell-out crowd and followed that by playing to another capacity crowd, supporting dreampop royalty Mahogany. Their second single 'Cloud Cartography' is to be released on 19th March. Quotes...
